More than 250 pupils from all over Ayrshire enjoyed this year’s event on Wednesday 30th May at North Ayrshire Council Magnum centre. Interesting courses set by Jane Cherry over the northern end of the Beach Park provided ample challenge to both the primary and secondary students.
Results
The warm dry weather was ideal for orienteering. In the Primary section Gargieston, Dundonald, Troon and Kingcase fielded strong teams and figured prominently in the prize winners list. Carrick and newcomers Auchenharvie sent strong contingents to the Secondary competition. It was left to the Nichol brothers to keep the Prestwick Academy flag flying which they did in fine style winning their respective classes. The club is grateful to the excellent support provided by the Magnum staff in facilitating the event.
